Lake House

This long, narrow house slips between the planting lines of the tall existing pine trees. Four blocks of identical geometry each contain a shared living area and a private room. They are backed on both sides by the axial wall and are linked by two covered terraces. This house-cum-shell protects the privacy of its inhabitants from the outside. Inside, the carefully-selected views allow for gazing out at the landscape, from the forest floor to the tops of the trees. The colour of the untreated materials reinforces the way in which the building mirrors the surrounding natural environment.
