Victor Louis Covered Playground

In a sunken section of the playground of an existing school the steel-structured canopy provides shade, thanks to its tight framework of beams. A translucent cover filters the light beneath the canopy and towards the neighbouring classrooms. Its folded roof collects rainwater, while allowing a view through to the sky. The supporting concrete wall holds back the upper courtyard and juts out into a low, broad bench on which teenagers can chat.
