Bord’ha participative housing

In the urban development of Bastide-Niel at Bordeaux, within a volume defined by Winy Maas (MVRDV), there is an old stewardship built in the 30’s. The scheme intends to provide an extension with an imposing roof, which will allow multiple levels beneath it’s inclined surfaces, which is defined by the sun’s path. The project allows the ground floor to interact with the city, suitably harbouring the mixed-use workspace. Six homes are situated in the roof space, each tailed to suit the families that will live there. Emerging from the roof, trees provide shade for the generous terraces carved into the volume of the roof.
